BMW N52 DIY Oil Dipstick Kit
 
Add a traditional oil dipstick to your N52 powerplant! — Ideal for standalone ECU conversions where the factory electronic oil-level sensor is no longer being monitored. This kit may also work with other BMW N5X and S5X engines, depending on oil-pan fitment and available routing. Confirmed fitment on steel N52 oil pan. 
 
The flexible dipstick tube can be bent and routed to suit your engine bay and shortened as required. We usually mount it to the bolt that the engine ground attaches to on the motor-mount arm. 
 
Installation Overview
Install the supplied fitting into the oil pan.
Bend and route the dipstick tube to the desired location.
Add the correct minimum oil quantity.
Insert the dipstick, then trim and mark the low-oil level.
Fill the engine to the correct maximum capacity and mark the full level.
 
Once calibrated to your engine and oil pan, you will have a simple, reliable mechanical oil-level reference again.
