8HP Basics: Chapter 3 - Tuning
Engine torque is one of the most important inputs to an 8HP. It's either supplied by the ECU or estimated by the TCU based on RPM, TPS, MAP, VE and other engine data. That value helps determine clutch pressure and shift behavior. Too much reported torque: shifts and takeoff can get unnecessarily harsh. Too little reported torque: clutch pressure may be insufficient, causing flare or slip.

8HP Basics: Chapter 2 - TCU Wiring
Most "tune" problems on a fresh 8HP install are really power, CAN bus or input scaling problems. This guide covers the wiring and configuration basics for the three controllers we sell; Turbolamik, CANTCU and MaxxECU. This is a starting point for understanding how it all works at a coarse level, so it can become less intimidating and easy to understand. CAN bus All three controllers can communicate over CAN bus to the rest of the car, and most integration problems I see are C

8HP Basics: Chapter 1 - TCU Choice
A great 8HP shift isn't just about what transmission controller you choose. It's more about how well the TCU and ECU work together. During a shift, the TCU requests the engine to reduce torque(Cut) or increase torque (Blip). The ECU mapping determines how those requests are actually carried out. Get that synergy and communication wrong, and even the best transmission controller can deliver poor shifts.
