8HP Oil Pan/Filter

The ZF 8HP uses a transmission oil filter that is integrated directly into the oil pan. Because of this, most replacement filters are not serviceable separately. When replacing the filter, the complete oil pan assembly is replaced.
 
For most applications, we recommend using the high-quality plastic replacement pan that we offer. It provides reliable sealing, proper fitment, and has performed extremely well in our own experience.
 
We have tested lower-cost cast aluminum pans in the past and experienced repeated sealing and leakage issues. If you prefer an aluminum pan for added strength, improved cooling, or serviceability, we strongly recommend using a properly machined billet unit, such as the HPR billet oil pan that we offer.
 
Avoid inexpensive aluminum pans where possible. A quality plastic pan is a better option than a poorly manufactured aluminum replacement.
