It offers three ramp settings: 1-way, 1.5-way, and 2-way, making it suitable for a wide range of driving styles and conditions.

 

Compatible with our Ford Explorer 8.8 based swap kits which all use 31 spline axles. This LSD delivers race-proven performance with unparalleled reliability.

LSD Ramp Types Explained

  • 1-Way: Locks only under acceleration.

Ideal for autocross or situations where quick turn-in and minimal braking lock-up are preferred.

  • 1.5-Way: Provides strong lock under acceleration and reduced lock under deceleration.

Generally the best choice for road racing and time attack, offering stability on corner entry without being overly aggressive.

  • 2-Way: Locks equally (or nearly equally) under both acceleration and deceleration.

Most commonly used for drifting where consistent lock in both directions is desired.

 

The OS Giken Ramp Angle: Measuring the Resulting Lock

OS Giken's engineers approach the measurement from the perspective of the resulting lock effect, rather than the physical angle of the ramp itself. 

 

OS Giken lists their ramp angles based on the Angle of the Resulting Force or the Effective Lock Angle created by the combination of the ramp and the force applied.

 

For the OS Giken Super Lock LSD listed as 25/35 (which is a common 1.5-Way setup)

  • 25° (Acceleration/Drive): This angle is designed to create a very strong, positive, and aggressive lock during acceleration.
