Description
Now’s the time to eliminate all the issues that come with the OEM EKPM. The Speedsty Motorsports upgraded EKMP board will replace your stock EKPM. This does not require any additional wiring and uses the stock connectors. The OEM EKPM fails regularly, especially in vehicles with an engine swap running upgraded fuel pumps, because it’s not being regulated anymore. The stock EKPM is current limited, with PWM switching it limits the current. The PWM control limits the voltage and causes excessive heat to be generated causing the EKPM to fail. This will seamlessly work with the stock DME, and standalone ECUs such as Maxxecu, Holley ECU and the LSE9x Holley Canbox.
The Speedsty Motorsports EKPM board uses relays to directly control the fuel pumps. It has Canbus support to emulate the stock EKPM and is capable of handling up to 25 amps per built-in pump. This board uses high-quality 45 amp relays from TE connectivity, and a grounded output that is configurable based on your pedal position, engine torque, fuel flow rate and is triggerable by a custom Canbus message. All EKPM upgrade boards will ship pre-configured to trigger the fuel pump at 200 NM of engine torque.
The EKPM replacement board includes several features including crash detection from the airbag modules that will turn off the fuel pumps in the event of a crash. The fuel pump(s) will not consistently run while the ignition is on and the engine is off. There is an additional relay control pin that will allow you to activate an external relay to control a third or more fuel pumps. No cooling fan is required, no coding is required offering a true PNP solution. Does not cause issues with the 15WUP bus unlike other relay-based EKPM delete solutions.
Speedsty Motorsports EKPM Versions:
| NO CANBUS - Single Relay | The NO CAN - Single relay version is considered an EKPM delete due to the lack of canbus support. The relay will activate with the ignition on. This version will cause an active code as the ECU will not recognize that there is an EKPM installed. |
| Canbus - Single Relay w/ switched ground | The Canbus - Single Relay version includes a switched ground wire and upgraded main pump wiring. The switched ground wire is an optional installation but it can be used to trigger an additional fuel pump using an external relay. It’s also meant to replace the need for a Hobbs Switch. |
| Canbus - Dual Relay w/ switched ground | The Canbus - Dual Relay version includes a PNP secondary fuel pump wiring harness, upgraded main pump wiring and the switched ground wire. With the dual relay harness, you can control up to three or more fuel pumps. |
