The ZF 8HP is an incredible transmission—but if you've ever tried to push or tow a car with one while the engine is off, you know the struggle. Without hydraulic pressure, the transmission remains locked in Park, making shop work, towing, alignments, or loading onto a trailer a serious hassle.
While the factory provides an emergency pull cable hidden under the shifter trim, that arrangement is often inaccessible or missing in aftermarket and custom swap builds.
The SLG Solution
The SLG Park Release Kit is a simple, mechanical solution inspired by our popular DCT Park Lock Kit, designed for Dodge 8HP transmissions. This kit allows you to manually release the parking pawl without engine power, allowing the vehicle to roll whenever needed.
Now available with your choice of Standard or GT handle systems, selected from the dropdown. The transmission-side components remain the same—only the handle/latch system changes.

Standard: Our original pull-handle design, featuring laser-cut and CNC-bent steel components with a durable black powder-coated finish.
GT: A BMW race-car-inspired mechanical locking release arm with custom threaded cable hardware and multiple adjustment points. Includes a zinc-coated steel cable stay that mounts to the chassis or body through its threaded adjustment section, giving you flexibility when positioning and setting up the release mechanism.
