SLG/HPR are proud to offer two Manual Park Lock Release solutions for BMW 8HP transmissions.
 
The BMW 8HP transmission is known for its performance, but one annoying part of using one in a swap or race car is being stuck in Park unless the engine is running and the transmission has hydraulic pressure to hold the parking pawl up. 
 
This can make pushing the car around the shop, loading it onto a trailer, performing alignments, or moving/towing the car in an emergency a major hassle when the engine is off and the drive wheels are locked.
 
Together, Seems Legit Garage and HPR developed a simple mechanical solution that allows the parking mechanism of most BMW 8HP transmissions to be manually released without requiring the engine or transmission to be powered.
 
Choose Your Release Style
 
Standard: Our original park release design and the simple, proven option for most street, swap, and race car applications.
 
The Standard kit uses a laser-cut and CNC-bent steel release handle and mounting bracket, finished in durable black powder coat.
 
It provides a straightforward manual method of operating the transmission park release cable and is ideal for installations where a simple pull-style release is preferred.
 
GT
The GT version is inspired by the mechanical park release systems found in factory BMW race cars and provides a more motorsport-oriented installation.
 
Instead of the standard pull handle, the GT kit includes a mechanical locking release arm that can be positively placed into the released position.
 
The GT system includes:

Custom hardware
Steel, zinc-coated cable stay
 
The GT setup provides a more rigid, positively located cable installation while allowing the park release system to be properly adjusted at multiple points.
 
Construction
Both versions are designed for long-term use in performance, race, and swap applications.
The transmission-side bracket and lever are manufactured from 6061 and finished with a black anodized coating for corrosion and wear resistance.
