The Original BMW Dual Caliper Solution! U.S. Patent No. 11,015,667
The SLG E9X M3 Dual Caliper Bracket Kit is one of the easiest and least intrusive ways to install a true Formula Drift-style standalone hydraulic handbrake system.
Unlike an in-line hydraulic handbrake, a standalone dual-caliper system does not interfere with the factory braking circuit. This helps maintain consistent brake bias, predictable pedal feel, and reliable handbrake performance.
Our patented brackets are engineered specifically for the E90 M3 knuckle to provide exceptional strength without requiring removal of the axle, hub, or wheel bearing to install.

Build a Complete Kit
Select the available options on this listing to create a nearly complete hydraulic handbrake package for your E9X M3. Just add your favorotie handbrake, and rip! We recommend using a 5/8-inch master cylinder for most applications.
Optional Hydraulic Hose Kit
Complete your dual-caliper installation with our optional chassis-specific HEL Performance hydraulic hose kit. The kit includes the hoses and fittings required to connect your hydraulic handbrake master cylinder to both rear calipers. The hoses feature stainless-steel braided construction, a protective outer coating, and swivel fittings that make routing and installation easier.
One-piece hoses are used wherever possible to reduce unnecessary connections and potential leak points. Custom bleeder-banjo fitting is also included to make bleeding the rear calipers easier.
Why Choose SLG Brackets?
Many competing dual-caliper brackets place most of the handbrake load through the small factory dust-shield mounting points. Our patented design distributes that force across several areas of the factory knuckle. In addition to the primary mounting hardware, our brackets use an additional bolt installed through the back of the knuckle for increased support.
The brackets also locate against the factory parking-brake shoe posts and other machined surfaces on the knuckle. These additional contact points help reduce stress on the mounting bolts and provide a substantially stronger installation.
You can retain the factory rear brake rotors, and installation does not require removing the hub or wheel bearing. ABS also can be retained without issue.
Construction
Our brackets are designed by professional automotive engineers and manufactured in the USA in our own machine shop.
Each kit features:
- CNC-machined aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum brackets
- Computer-modeled and analyzed design
- Gold-anodized finish
- ARP hardware at the primary knuckle mounting points
- Compatibility with the factory wheel-speed and ABS sensors
- Compatibility with the factory rear brake rotors
- Installation without removing the axle, hub, or wheel bearing
Installation Requirements
Installation requires removal of the factory rear dust shields and mechanical parking-brake components. The factory wheel-speed sensors, ABS functionality, primary brake calipers, and rear brake rotors are retained.
Install Instructions
Install notes:
- Remove caliper and rotor.
- Remove factory e-brake shoes, mechanisms, and cables. May be necessary to cut cables and punch it out of the trailing arm from the backside.
- Unbolt the dust shield and cut it, so you are able to bend it around the hub and remove it from the vehicle.
- Clean the trailing arm to remove rust and uneven surfaces.
- Bolt up the billet bracket to the trailing arm, using blue Loctite on the ARP hardware.
- Install the 10mm allen head screw into the bracket from the backside of the trailing arm, through the factory e-brake cable hole.
- Install brake rotor
- Reinstall primary caliper in factory location, and install secondary caliper to the bracket.
- Do mad skids!
