Adjustable Dodge 8HP Transmission Mount

Adjustable Dodge 8HP Transmission Mount

Guru Autowerks Adjustable 8HP Rear Transmission Mount

An incredibly versatile rear mounting solution from Guru Autowerks, designed for both Dodge Charger/Challenger and Dodge RAM 8HP transmissions. Machined from billet 6061 aluminum, this mount provides nearly infinite adjustment so you can set the ideal driveline angle for your swap.

Two mounting styles are available, allowing you to choose the version that best suits your chassis and crossmember setup.

Universal Style

The Universal version uses a commonly available GM TH350/TH400-style transmission mount bushing. The height-adjustable mounting plate allows the bushing to be installed level, making it an excellent choice when fabricating a custom crossmember or adapting an existing muscle car crossmember, as the flat mounting surface works especially well with traditional American-style transmission mounts and crossmembers.

BMW Style

The BMW version is designed to work with angled factory-style BMW transmission bushings. It pairs perfectly with our E36 and E46 8HP crossmembers as well as factory E8X/E9X. It can also work with factory or modified BMW crossmembers, we used this on a F8X 8HP swap in the past.

This version also includes a centered TH350/TH400-style mounting provision, allowing it to be installed conventionally on a flat crossmember when needed as well.

  • Install Instructions

*This bracket has height adjustment & MUST be properly installed to prevent the support bracket from moving. While there are many ways you can determine the desired height of the driveline the most important step is ensuring you threadlock and torque the M10 Socket Cap Screws first & then afterwards threadlock an torque the small backup M8 Set Screws after both M10 Socket Cap Screws are tightened.*

Step 1) Mount Upper Mount Bracket to the transmission using the (4) "D1" bolts provided. Blue threadlock can be used on these bolts for the final assembly but for mock fitting it is best to install these bolts without threadlock initially. Final Torque Spec = 44lb-ft.

Step 2) Determine desired height by measuring drivetrain angle. (See online instructions if youre unfamiliar with this process.) After determining desired height you then may proceed to lock down the (2) M10 Socket Cap Screws and afterwards the (2) M8 Set Screws. There are many different ways to go about this process either on or off the vehicle.

One option would be to tighten down the M10 Socket Cap Screws without threadlock first, then remove the bracket to apply threadlock/tighten one side at a time while leaving the opposite side tight so the bracket cant move. You can also do this same process with the bracket mounted to the transmission if you support the transmission separately to ensure nothing moves.

Another option would be to apply threadlock to the M10 Socket Cap Screws before mounting the bracket & setting drivetrain angle. Once desired height/angle is determinted you can then final torque the M10 Socket Cap Screws & lastly M8 Set Screws. Keep in mind this method will leave a limited amount of time to do so before the threadlock cures, making the bolts difficult to move/tighten.

Use your best judgement for this process. Use Blue Threadlock on both M10 Socket Cap Screws & Torque to 55lb-ft. Ensure the M8 Set Screws and the horizontal support is flush against the vertical support before tightening M10 Socket Cap Screws.

NOTE WASHER ORIENTATION IS CRITICAL: The washers under the head of these M10 Socket Cap Screws are "Conical Spring Washers". As the socket cap screws are tightened the cone shape of these washers are compressed. To function propery the cone shape of the washers must be facing the head of the socket cap screw.

Step 3) After determined desired height & locking down the M10 Socket Cap Screws you may proceed to apply blue threadlock to the (2) M8 Set Screws & Torque to 6lb-ft.

Step 4) Double check all bolts are properly torqued & drivetrain angle is still at the desired spec. Make adjustments if needed.
